James Caparosa and Amanda Giannini

Duane and Deborah Giannini of Newtown announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Ann Giannini of Brookfield, to James Joseph Caparosa, also of Brookfield, son of James Caparosa of Queens, N.Y., and Mona Peterman of Hopewell Junction, N.Y.

The future bride is a 1998 graduate of Newtown High School, and a member of the Muhlenberg College class of 2002. She is employed as a Spanish teacher at Brookfield High School.

The future groom graduated from Fairfield High School in 1998, and from the University of Tampa in 2002. He is employed by Prudential Financial in Shelton.

An August 2008 wedding is being planned.
