Hedwig Kaiser

Loved Plants, Friends, And Family

Hedwig “Hedy” (Beyer) Kaiser, 90, died November 16 at Danbury Hospital. Mrs Kaiser was born on October 13, 1917, in the present-day Czech Republic to Josef and Hermie Beyer.

During World War II, she worked for the Institute of Chemistry at the University in Prague. She immigrated to the United States and married William Kaiser in 1948. In 1999, Mrs Kaiser and her husband moved to Danbury from Brooklyn, N.Y., to be near their daughter, Denise Kaiser.

In addition to her husband and daughter, her immediate survivors are her son-in-law, Greg Dworkin of Newtown; and grandsons, Laurence Dworkin of New York City and Stephen Dworkin of Newtown. She leaves friends and extended family members across the globe.

A fabulous cook and lover of all things that grow, she made friends easily and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services took place November 18 in the United Jewish Center, Danbury, with Rabbi Clifford E. Librach and Cantor Penny Kessler officiating. Burial followed in the United Jewish Center Cemetery, Brookfield.

Donations in her memory may be made to the Division of Geriatrics, Danbury Hospital, 24 Hospital Avenue, Danbury CT 06810 or any appropriate charity.
