See A Play, Help Newtown Girls Lacrosse
Friend of Newtown Lacrosse has bought the house of TheatreWorks, the New Milford playhouse, for the December 1 showing of The Philadelphia Story. The Broadway hit, written for Katharine Hepburn, joins socialite Tracy Lord as she prepares to marry for the second time. Plans go awry as the reporter covering her wedding and her first husband turn up for the pre-nuptial party, throwing everyoneâs emotions into disarray. This comedy of manners takes a wry look at the American ultra-rich: combining wit, satire, and romance with a heroine who entrances and exasperates at the flip of a coin. Tickets are $40 and all proceeds will support conditioning, training, emergency transportation, emergency indoor practice fields and deposits on winter space. The evening will include hors dâouevres, dessert, and an open bar of soda, wine and beer. Show time is 8 pm. If the date is convenient, consider a donation to Newtown girls lacrosse. Call Becky Soder at 426-8841 or Ann Feltch at 470-1897 for further information and visit www.theatreworks.us for more information on the playhouse.
