Filling The Fire Trucks

To the Editor:

I would like to thank the generous residents of Newtown for their support of our 6th annual Fill the Fire Truck Food Drive. Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Co., Hawleyville Fire Co., United Fire Co. of Botsford & Dodgingtown Fire Co. was able to give the Faith Food Pantry 39 turkeys, 121 boxes of food, and over $1,000 in cash and gift cards. 

I would also like to thank Big Y Supermarket and Stop & Shop for allowing us to stand in front of their stores to collect. Curtis Packaging was generous in their donation of cardboard boxes to the event. Also, thank you to Big Y, Mark DeWolfe, Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire & Rescue Co.’s Ladies Auxiliary and The Villa Restaurant for feeding us during the collection.
