Native Of Puerto Rico

Abigail Torres, 85, of Bridgeport, a native of Isabela, Puerto Rico, died November 20 in Bridgeport Hospital. She was the daughter of Francisco Gomez and Secundina Cortez and moved into the Bridgeport area many years ago. Her husband, Gregorio Torres, predeceased her.

 She is survived by her sons, Eliezer Torres of Newtown and Natanael Torres of Bridgeport; her daughter, Ruth Ortega of Newtown; her brother, Benjamin Gomez of Brooklyn, N.Y.; ten grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends that will dearly miss her. Mrs Torres was predeceased by her grandson, Wiliam Ortega, Jr.

 Funeral services will take place Saturday, November 24, beginning at 9 am at the Iglesia Primera Casa de Oracion, 42 Laurel Avenue, Bridgeport, followed by interment in Mt Grove Easton Cemetery, Easton. Friends are invited to attend calling hours on Friday, November 23, beginning at 6 pm at the church. All floral arrangements are to be delivered directly to the church.

The Funeraria Luz de Paz, Bridgeport, has been given the honor of providing services for Mrs Torres.
