Robbery At Blue Colony

Police are investigating a first-degree robbery that took place about 11:18 am November 22 at the Blue Colony Diner at 66 Church Hill Road, near Exit 10 of Interstate-84.

Police said a man entered the building through a kitchen door and placed a screwdriver-like device against a male employee’s body and demanded money. The diner employee, who is in his 40s, gave the assailant less than $100, according to police.

The robber then left the kitchen and went into the parking lot, as diner workers were pursuing him, police said. The assailant, who was able to escape, drove off in a dark green, four-door sport-utility vehicle, which appeared to be either a Land Rover or Range Rover. The vehicle may have headed westbound on I-84, police said.

Police described the assailant as a white male, 6 feet, 2 inches tall, of medium build. The robber wore a dark sweatshirt with a hood pulled over his head when he committed the robbery, police said.

First-degree robbery is a Class “B” felony, also known as armed robbery, which carries a minimum five-year prison sentence in a conviction.

Police ask anyone who has information about the robbery to contact them at 426-5841.
