I hope that this letter will serve to gain the attention of girlsâ fast-pitch softball leagues in the area.
This letter is for those leagues which currently have or are wanting to start girlsâ traveling softball teams. Many of you now compete in the CVFL or New York summer programs during June, July and August. I am hoping to establish a summer girlsâ fast-pitch league with 12=-and-under, 14-and-under, 16-and-under and possibly 18-and-under divisions. The league would be called the Candlewood Valley League.
This league was in existence in this area in the past and I would like to see it brought back again. Danbury, Brookfield and Weston have all expressed an interested in such a league.
This league would be formed and runner by a representative from each division from each town. The purpose is to provide the athletes in this area a chance to play past their townsâ established programs. It would also cut down on the need for long travel times to New York and back.
I think there is plenty of player interest, but I need interest on the part of the town girlsâ fast-pitch officials. I would like to hold an organizational meeting in January. If you are interested, please call me at 1-860-354-8041
