A Month Of Magic Hour Workshops

BRIDGEPORT — Parents and preschoolers can spend an hour of quality time together on Saturdays during December in the Museum Magic Hour, at the Discovery Museum, 4450 Park Avenue in Bridgeport.

The story-craft series begins in December with a charming story of a young Japanese girl and her doll entitled “Little Oh.” The story by Laura Krause Melmed will be the focus of the program on December 4.

In the illustrated poem “On the Day You Were Born,” Debra Frasier describes some of the world’s wonders at the moment of a child’s birth, to be read on December 11. Then on December 18, the focus will be on Beatrice Potter’s delightful tale of an industrious mouse, The Tailor of Gloucester.

The Museum Magic Hour is designed for children age 2½ to 5, accompanied by an adult. Each session runs from 10:30 to 11:30 am and costs $12. Reservations are required, and space is limited.

The Discovery Museum and its Wonder Workshop are located one mile south of Exit 47 off the Merritt Parkway; signs are posted. Free staffed parking is available adjacent to the building. For more information and reservations, call 203/372-3521 ext 129.
