Michelle Reichert, who founded the residential and commercial cleaning company Clean Suites in 2013, doesn’t just want to leave her customers with a sparkling clean finish. She wants her sustainable cleaning products and practices to benefit clients for a long time after she has packed up her mops and vacuum cleaners.

The Newtown-based enterprise works in town and throughout the region for select private clients, realtors and property managers, typically rolling in to recently completed new homes or to properties in-between occupants.

“I specialize in cleaning up before people move in, and after they move out,” she told The Newtown Bee during a recent visit to a local client’s home.

Ms Reichert positions herself in a very different way from most commercial cleaning agencies. She keeps her workforce small — with just six employees, most of whom she has known for years and trusts implicitly.

The Newtowner has a decades-long history in construction management, where her responsibilities included ensuring all soon-to-be-occupied properties were clean and ready for occupancy.

“It always gave me a great sense of accomplishment to see the smiles and approving looks on people’s faces the first time they arrived at properties I was in charge of preparing for them,” she said.

Now that her only job is “keeping it all clean,” Ms Reichert is also looking for new partnerships with regional real estate professionals, home stagers, and property managers.

She has developed a unique niche among cleaning companies because she supervises and digs into the work at every site on her “to-do” list.

“I’m on every job — not just because I’m the boss, but because my clients appreciate my hands-on involvement,” she said. “Since I’m there and the last one out the door when we’re done, I can be sure every little thing is picture perfect.”

She visits with every new client offering a free estimate based either on the square-footage of the work or the extent of cleaning she needs to do to make the space immaculate.

“I find some of the larger jobs may be easier to clean, so they may be less expensive than locations with a lot of architectural features like built-ins and cabinets,” Ms Reichert said. “We work top to bottom, and inside to out, hitting ceilings, floors, light fixtures, even light bulbs — every nook and cranny in-between, including inside drawers and cabinets if that’s what the client demands.”

Clean Suites polishes furniture and fixtures providing what Ms Reichert calls an “incomparable deep cleaning.”

And she does it all with the utmost attention paid to environmentally sustainable practices, using only certified green methods, utensils, and products. All her supplies are low-VOC (volatile organic compounds) that are nontoxic.

“Renewable methodology is our mission,” she said. “We use everything from microfiber cleaning cloths to heap-filtered vacuum cleaners.”

She is also a LEED-GA certified professional. As such, Ms Reichert combines her quarter-century in the construction industry with her passion for sustainability, offering her clients added consulting expertise if they are looking to make their new or preowned properties as energy efficient as possible.

“We start by offering an energy audit to assess how our clients can continue saving money on their energy bills while better protecting the environment,” Ms Reichert said. “I help clients find and install efficiency systems to achieve maximum sustainability.”

Among the other services Clean Suites offers are:

*Removing construction or renovation debris

*Removing packing material from fixtures, furniture, and appliances

*Cleaning all HVAC registers

*Sanitizing all plumbing fixtures

*Scrubbing stone, ceramic, and vinyl surfaces

Ms Reichert and her team will even assist new occupants with maximizing and optimizing their storage and interior spaces, while removing clutter.
