William T. Pategas

William T. Pategas, 86, beloved husband of Jean Germond Pategas of Monroe, died November 14, in Ashlar of Newtown following a long illness. Born in Bridgeport on April 24, 1917, he was the son of the late Frank and Antonia Patie Pategas.

Mr Pategas was a five-year resident of Monroe, previously of Stratford, Trumbull, and Huntington. He was a US Army veteran of WWII, and an avid fisherman. Mr Pategas worked as a construction superintendent for area contractors until his retirement in 1979.

In addition to his wife of 62 years, he is survived by his devoted sons, William Pategas, Jr, and his wife Barbara, of Woodbury, and Eugene Pategas, Sr, and his wife Joan, of Shelton; brother John Pategas and his wife Kathryn, of Newtown; grandchildren, Eugene Pategas, Jr, Sara DeLeo, Joshua Pategas, Thomas Pategas, Kathryn Callahan, and Jillian Pategas; and great-grandson Zakary DeLeo.

Funeral services took place on November 18 from the Spadaccino Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike (Route 111), Monroe. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St Jude Church, 707 Monroe Turnpike (Route 111), Monroe. Interment with military honors was in Resurrection Cemetery, Newtown. Memorial contributions may be made to the Monroe Senior Center, 235 Cutlers Farm Road, Monroe, CT 06468.
