Disaster Preparedness For Seniors

DANBURY –– Learn how to avoid getting caught unprepared for winter storms, thunderstorms, flooding, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, toxic spills, and fires at the next Danbury Hospital’s next Medical Town “Be Ready! Disaster Preparedness for Seniors.” The program will take place on Tuesday, December 9, from 7 to 8:30 pm, at Danbury Hospital’s John C. Creasy Center for Health Education auditorium.

Andrew D. McGuire, emergency management officer at Danbury Hospital, will facilitate the evening program that includes speakers from the Danbury Hospital Emergency Department, American Red Cross-Western Connecticut Chapter, and the Western Connecticut Area Agency on Aging. They will discuss the importance of planning ahead in the event of a sudden emergency or disaster, and provide essential information about the steps to take to remain safe.

Ample time will be provided for audience questions. A prize drawing, giveaways, educational materials, and light refreshments also will be provided.

Danbury Hospital Medical Town Meetings are free and open to the public. No RSVP is required. Park free in the Blue visitor’s parking lot, Hospital Avenue entrance.
