Alfreda Ritz

Alfreda (Grenke) Ritz, 89, died on November 16 in the presence of her family at Danbury Hospital after a three-week illness.

In addition to her parents, Frieda was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Adolph, in 1989.

She was born on May 10, 1914, in Ellenhof, Poland, and moved to Munderloh, Germany, coming to the United States with her family 65 years ago. She resided in Stamford, Newtown, and New Milford prior to moving to Bethel two years ago.

Mrs Ritz is survived by a son, Walter Ritz, and his wife Matilde, of Bethel, a daughter, Trudy R. Goodrow of Danbury; her grandsons Walter J. Ritz of Bridgeport, Fred Ritz of Shelton, and Ronald R. Goodrow and his wife Linda of South Carolina, two granddaughters Linda J. Luckner of Bethel and Laurie Goodrow-Embree and her husband Scott of New Milford; and four great-grandchildren Matthew W. Luckner, Travis R. Goodrow, Ashley R. Goodrow, and Cody S. Embree.

Funeral services took place November 19 at Christ The King Lutheran Chu rch, 84 Mt Pleasant Road, Newtown. Burial followed in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Danbury.
