Marine Corps Capt Gerald J. Finnegan, Jr, son of Nancy and Gerald Finnegan of Newtown, recently was promoted to his current rank while serving with Marine Corps Air Station in Jacksonville, N.C.
Marine Corps Capt Gerald J. Finnegan, Jr, son of Nancy and Gerald Finnegan of Newtown, recently was promoted to his current rank while serving with Marine Corps Air Station in Jacksonville, N.C.
Capt Finnegan was promoted based on sustained superior job performance and proficiency in his designated specialty. He is a 1991 graduate of Newtown High School and joined the Marine Corps in July 1992.
_Kevin W. Konkos, of Newtown, has been inducted into the Lehigh University chapter of the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society.
Mr Konkos, a 1999 graduate of New Canaan High School, was among 208 Lehigh students recently inducted. The goal of Phi Eta Sigma is to encourage and reward academic excellence among students in institutions of higher education. To be eligible for membership, students must earn a 3.5 cumulative grade point average during one or both semesters of their first year at the university.
Courtney Steele
Courtney Steele, post-graduate of Newtown, has earned the distinction of Deanâs List for the first making period at St Thomas More School in Oakdale, Conn. He is the son of Gary and Mona Steele of Newtown.
