Annual Turkey Trot For Faith Foods Pantry
The Newtown Bridle Lands Association and the Second Company Governorâs Horse Guard held their annual Turkey Trot Ride at Fairfield Hills on Saturday, November 18. The Turkey Trot benefits the Faith Food Pantry of Sandy Hooks. Riders contributed 14 bags of non-perishable food and household consumables and then set out on a two-hour ride. The bags were collected by Chick Trayford and delivered to the Faith Food Pantry. Corporals Dave Powell and Doreen Juergens led the ride for the Horse Guard. The NBLA riders were Cindy Miller, Missy Gregson, Sara Benjamin, Kathleen Bivona, Liz Rowland, Alyssa Osiecki, Betsy Westerfield and Toby Tamblyn. The morning was brisk, clear and sunny, with a light breeze. The horses were full of energy and shenanigans and took to cantering on the trails at Fairfield Hills.
