Linda Lou Palanzo Rosvally
Linda Lou Palanzo Rosvally, 67, of Newtown died November 18 at Danbury Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Mamie (Clerici) and Carl Palanzo.
She was born in Danbury, where she attended St Peter Catholic School, and she graduated from Bethel High School.
She worked for the Danbury Public School System as a secretary from 1967 through 2004.
Ms Rosvally was a gourmet cook and also made elaborate wedding cakes. She loved to entertain and host the holidays at her home. She was an avid and accomplished crafter and mastered many projects before moving on to other challenges. She will be remembered especially for her stained glass, baskets, photography, scrapbooking, jewelry, quilting, and holiday ornaments. She loved to garden and planted 90,000 daffodils in her yard, while raising orchids indoors.
She traveled extensively and although she swore off camping after attending Woodstock, she camped again after retiring, accompanied by her beloved Chihuahuas. Ms Rosvally enjoyed life, and despite numerous medical setbacks, she taught all around her how to live with joy and die with dignity.
Her husband of 20 years, Harry Rosvally, Jr; her son David Joseph Rosvally, and his wife Jennifer (Mulligan), of Sandy Hook; and her two grandchildren, Tyler and Kaelyn, survive Ms Rosvally. A brother, Carl “Skip” Palanzo, predeceased her.
The family is grateful for the skilled nursing care Ms Rosvally received over the past several years from Dave, Gladis, and Carla. The family is also grateful for the compassionate nursing staff at Danbury Hospital who took care of her during extended hospital stays, and particularly to Drs Jeff Friedman, Richard Hsu, and Sidney Page.
Friends may call at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury, from 5 to 8 pm, Thursday, November 20. A funeral service will take place Friday, November 21, at 10:30 am, at St Peter Catholic Church, 104 Main Street, Danbury, followed by burial at St Peter Cemetery.
