The second annual Sip ‘n Shop, an event being presented by Friends of the Newtown Community Center, will offer participants the chance to shop from a variety of vendors while enjoying wine and beer tastings, with the opportunity to order wine and beer from local vendors for later pick-up.

This year’s Sip ‘n Shop is scheduled for Friday, December 2, at Newtown Community Center, 8 Simpson Street.

Sounds of the season will be provided by Shaun Mangold, and food will be available for purchase.

Sip ‘n Shop will feature over ten wine and beer vendors and more than 35 different and unique artisans and vendors. The event is open to adults ages 21 and over.

“We wanted to give the community an opportunity to get some of their holiday shopping done early and support local merchants at the same time,” Community Center Director Matt Ariniello explains. “Participants will have the opportunity to purchase everything from clothing to jewelry to scarves to cookware! You will also have a chance to try a variety of wines, beers and specialty cocktails and then place orders, and pick up the following week, to stock up for the holidays.”

The event will run from 5:45-9:30 pm. There are 2 ticket types: VIP or General Admission.

VIP Tickets are $45, which must be purchased in advance, and offer an early entrance Sneak Preview that runs from 5:45 to 7 pm, and includes specialty cocktails, food and appetizers, door prizes, and more.

General admission tickets are $25, and grant entry as of 7 o’clock.

All proceeds will go to Friends of Newtown Community Center to assist with scholarships to Newtown Community Center, free community programming, and Community Center enhancements.
