Toro Wins NYA Flag Football Title

Newtown Youth Academy’s Flag Football season III playoffs were held this past week. Game highlights are as follows:

Toro Restaurant 32, Team Four 19: Team Four jumped out to an early lead but it didn’t last long. Iro Nolisa and Fabian Cardona each scored touchdowns, and Carl Doty scored two TDs. For Team Four, Bruce Duffy scored a TD, and Steven Notaro scored two.

 Indians 38, El Coyote Restaurant 6: The Season II Champion Indians started of with a safety and never looked back with Dan “Good Hands” Kearns scoring on a TD reception. The scoring continued with a TD from Anthony Mason and two apiece from Big Joe Feola and Steve Vichiola. Mike Kennedy helped lead the  Indians with pinpoint passes throughout the game. Aaron Vangor scored the lone TD for El Coyote.

 Toro 37, Indians 21 (championship game): The Indians scored first with an Adam “Mr TD” Hayden touchdown, but after a couple of Indians interceptions, Toro Restaurant jumped in front and never looked back with scores from Brian Chouinard, Orin Shannon, Iroe Nolisa, Carl Doty, and Josh Tort oro. Mike Kennedy and Steve Vichiola also scored for the Indians.
