The Far-Reaching Work Of Rotary
The Far-Reaching Work Of Rotary
To the Editor:
My name is Ben Galassi, and I am a sophomore at Newtown High School, and one of the students that was selected by the Newtown Rotary Organization to participate in the UN Rotary International Day. I wanted to take this opportunity to thank the Rotary for this generous opportunity.
Among the many things that I learned is the far-reaching work that the Rotary does in order to provide such basic things as clean drinking water to underdeveloped countries. I appreciated seeing many humanitarian efforts and understanding the scope of the United Nations up close. I would also like to thank in particular my assigned chaperone, Aaron Coopersmith, who took us to see other sights in New York such as 30 Rock, St Patrickâs Cathedral, and the New York Public Library. My grandmother, who lives in Italy, is a member of the Rotary and I now understand how she helps the international community by being a part of the Rotary even from so far away.
Sincerely,
Ben Galassi
