NHS Field Hockey Team Holds Fundraiser And After School Program

Newtown High School’s field hockey program has been hard at work on and off the field this fall. The Nighthawks played a breast cancer awareness game to benefit the American Breast Cancer Society and local foundation, Kindness for Kim, which benefits Newtown Resident Kim D’Amico, recently diagnosed with stage three breast cancer.

Members of the freshman, junior varsity and varsity teams also hold a half-day program at Newtown Youth Academy to provide after-school activity for the elementary/intermediate school children the first Wednesday of every month as the schools have early dismissal for professional development days. The students play dodgeball, kickball, and soccer.
