Beloved Mother
Dorothy Mae (Elliott) Hyde Lafferty of Norwich died peacefully, November 15, at Masonicare of Newtown, after a long, courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Ridge Farm, Ill., September 7, 1928, to Margaret (Doyle) and Walter Elliott.
At the age of 1, she and her family moved to Norwich. She was married to Ernest J. Hyde, Sr, and Hugh L. Lafferty.
Mrs Lafferty is survived by eight children and their spouses: Wayne Hyde of Newtown; Ernest Hyde, Jr, and Michael and Robin Hyde, all of Vero Beach, Fla.; Robert and Bernadette Hyde of Norwich; Walter and Karen Hyde, Glenn and Debbie Hyde, and Rocky and Debbie Hyde, all of Danbury; and Gail and David Smith of Beach Lake, Penn. She also leaves behind 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by both of her husbands; a brother, Walter Elliott; and two sisters, Peggy Porter and Laverne Leschinsky.
Mrs Laffertyâs family would like to offer special thanks to the staff at Regency Healthcare in Norwich, the staff at Masonicare in Newtown, and to all Hospice volunteers for their loving care.
