D10 Nighthawks Second At State Competition

After placing fourth at the Local Competition at Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk in October, the D10 Newtown Nighthawks Cheerleaders vowed to do better. Competing against 13 other cheer teams in their division from the Candlewood Valley League, the Nighthawks tied for first place with the Ansonia Coppers at the State Competition at Ridgefield High School on November 7.

The tie was snapped after the judges broke down the individual fundamental scores, making the official placement of the Nighthawks second in the competition.

Only the top three teams from Locals and the first-place team from States move up to the Regional Competition so the Nighthawks will not be going, but they sure have a lot to be proud of.
