DANBURY â The Seasonal Health Lecture Series is presented by local naturopathic physician Shawn M. Carney. Lasting one hour each, the lectures are free, registration is not required and bringing chairs or cushions is recommended.Â
All lectures begin promptly at 6:30 pm, and include a question and answer session.
The November 30 lecture focuses on irritable bowel syndrome treatments with natural medicine.
Vague but common gastrointestinal symptoms may indicate a disorder called irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), which is often underdiagnosed and difficult to treat with prescription medications. Dr Carney, will discuss his perspectives on the cause of IBS and shares some natural approaches for treatment.
On December 28Â the subject will be âCombating Depression: Improving Your Mood with Natural Medicine.â
An estimated 15 percent of people will experience depression at some point in their lives.
