Firehouse

Police report that someone intentionally damaged an air conditioner at the Dodgingtown Firehouse at 55 Dodgingtown Road. Police learned of the case of third-degree criminal mischief about 9:34 am November 17. Police ask anyone with information on the vandalism to contact them at 203-426-5841.

Theft

Police learned at about 8:22 am November 18, that someone had stolen a tire and a rim that had been left outdoors at Berkshire Motors, LLC, at 25 Berkshire Road. The incident constitutes sixth-degree larceny. Anyone with information on the matter is asked to contact police at 203-426-5841.

SUV Vs Pole

About 5:23 pm November 17, motorist Antoni Kogut, 53, of Shelton was driving a 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV eastward on Meadowbrook Road, when the vehicle struck a utility pole along the right road shoulder, police report.

The Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps transported Kogut to Danbury Hospital for treatment of injuries, police said. Botsford firefighters responded to the accident.

New Lebbon Road

Michael Correia, 43, of North Haven was driving a 2005 Freightliner box truck southward on New Lebbon Road, near Beagle Trail, about 11:11 am November 18, when Correia looked downward briefly  and the truck drifted over to the right road shoulder, police said.

The truck went into a ditch, damaging the vehicle, police said. Correia was not injured. Police said they verbally warned him for making a restricted turn.

Warrant

After learning that police held a warrant for him, Herbert Mortera, 46, of 20 Tunnel Road went to the police station on the afternoon of November 16 and was charged with failure to respond to an infraction stemming from Mortera’s not having responded to a ticket that was issued earlier this year on a charge of allowing a dog to roam, police said.

After processing, police released Mortera on $92 bail for a November 30 court appearance.
