New Classes For Outdoor Rangers
New Classes For Outdoor Rangers
WOODBURY â Flanders Nature Center is beginning a new session of Outdoor Rangers sessions, which present classes with topics geared for the preschool mind. Classes include crafts, projects, games, songs, stories, puppet shows, music and time for snack. Programs are presented in a way that is easy for a 3 to 5-year oldâs mind to understand.
The new series of session dates are Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9:15 to 11:15 am. Cost is $25 per week. There is an abbreviated series also available, where classes meet only once a week, on Tuesday from 12:30 to 2:30 pm. Cost for these classes is $12.50 per week.
The classes on November 30 and December 2 will be âAnimals Prep for Winter.â Students will learn how Connecticutâs woodland creatures adapt to the cold through migration, adaptation, or remaining active.
The following week, on December 7 and 9, the class will be âWinter Wildlife.â Children will find out who is active this time of year by looking at animal tracks left in the snow.
Fees include craft materials and handouts. Students will need to bring their own snacks (no juice boxes, please).
Flanders Nature Center is at the corner of Flanders and Church Hill Road in Woodbury. Pre-registration is required for Outdoor Rangers; call 263-3711.
