Jean M. McBride, 93, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Leo E. McBride, died on November 16, with her family by her side. She was born in Bridgeport, on March 15, 1923, a daughter of the late William and Elizabeth McElroy Connelly.

Her five children and their spouses, Maureen and Jeffrey Helgren of Newtown, Peter and Nancy McBride of Florida, Timothy and Sharon McBride of Maryland, Jane Novia O'Reilly and Michael O'Reilly, MD, of Monroe, and Martha McBride and Allen Gregory of Redding; siblings Thomas Connelly of Pennsylvania and Martha Sullivan of Delaware; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews survive her. Her brothers, Paul, William Jr, and John Connelly; and sisters, Patricia Corcoran, Anne Dillon, and Mary Redgate predeceased her.

Mrs McBride graduated in 1944 from St Vincent's Hospital School of Nursing. She was a proud veteran of World War II, working as an Army nurse serving in the Philippines and in Japan. Later in life, she worked at the Bridgeport Department of Aging.

Friends and family are invited to call on Friday, November 18, from 3 to 7 pm in the Gregory F. Doyle Funeral Home, 291 Bridgeport Avenue, Milford.

A memorial mass will be conducted in St Gabriel Church, 26 Broadway, Milford, on Saturday, November 19, at 1 pm.
