Newtown Resident Joins CPA Firm

Newtowner Magda B. Szabo was recently welcomed by Middlebury-based Konowitz, Kahn & Company, PC, as the firm’s new tax director. In her capacity, Ms Szabo will support the firm’s certified public accounting and financial management team.

According to a release, Ms Szabo has been involved in planning, formation, and reporting issues for domestic and foreign entities.

She is an experienced advisor to clients on domestic and offshore tax matters involving corporations, partnerships, REITs, funds, investments, trusts, tax-exempt organizations, start-up ventures, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. She is also skilled in domestic and foreign personal tax matters involving estate and succession planning, foundations, public charities, and asset protection.

“We are very pleased to bring Magda [Szabo] on board,” said Armand E. Rossi, managing partner. “Her vast knowledge of international tax issues and unique combination of legal and tax experience bring enormous value to our clients.”

Ms Szabo holds a BA and master of accountancy and financial information systems from Cleveland State University, a Juris Doctor (JD) from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, and a master of laws (LL.M.) in taxation from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. She is admitted to practice in Connecticut, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Federal and US Tax Courts, and holds a license as a certified public accountant.

Konowitz, Kahn & Company, PC, is a provider of accounting and business advisory services including accounting, auditing, tax, wealth management, business valuations, trust and estate accounting, forensic and litigation support, family office services, and cost segregation.

The firm has been serving closely held midmarket businesses in diverse industries locally and globally since 1936 and operates out of offices in North Haven and Middlebury.
