Is Hip Or Knee Replacement

Right For You?

A free Lunch and Learn Program for the community titled “Total Hip and Knee Surgery: Is it Right for You” will be held Thursday, December 3, in the Lodge Room at Masonicare at Newtown. Dr Peter Boone, MD, a physician with The Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Center, will present the program.

The program will begin at 11:30 am, and a complimentary lunch will be served at 12:15 pm.

Dr Boone is a graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of Pennsylvania Medical School; he is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and has additional fellowship training in total joint resurfacing as well as traditional total hip and knee replacement.

Dr Boone received the 2004 St Vincent de Paul Award for outstanding physician at St Vincent’s Medical Center. He serves there as assistant director of orthopaedics. He is also serving an eight-year appointment to the Board of St Vincent’s Medical Center.

In his presentation, Dr Boone will discuss the overall benefits of hip and knee replacement surgery. He will explain in detail what a patient can expect during and after surgery and will stress the important role postoperative exercises and rehabilitation can play in a patients recovery. 

A question and answer period will follow.

Masonicare at Newtown sponsors the Lunch and Learn series to provide the public with important and timely health and wellness information.  There is no fee for the program, but seating is limited.
