For Artists

The Society of Creative Arts of Newtown (SCAN) is hosting one-day art workshops this month and next at Newtown Meeting House.

Melody Asbury will be conducting a workshop on Saturday, November 18. This workshop will deal with figures and portraiture.

Ms Asbury will demonstrate in oil, but students make work in any medium with instruction in that medium given by this versatile artist.

Lalit Masih, a nationally known artist from New Paltz, N.Y., will conduct a watercolor workshop on Wednesday, December 6.

Mr Masih is a Dolphin Member of the American Watercolor Society, which is a high level award distinction. His demonstrations for SCAN have been very well received.

The workshops will run from 9 am until 4pm, and space is limited.

Cost for either workshop is $50. It is not necessary to be a member of SCAN to sign up for these workshops. Pre-registration is necessary.
