For The
Holiday Season
DANBURY â The Danbury Museum & Historical Societyâs Gift Shop has reopened for the holiday season. Featuring new inventory and several annual classics, the museum has something for many discerning customers. From Danburite jewelry and the 2007 theme calendar with photos of the Great Danbury State Fair to holiday decorations and old fashioned replica childrenâs toys, items purchased in the gift shop are good for gift-giving as well as personal collection building.
Danburite is an increasingly popular gemstone that used to be found and mined in Danbury in the early and mid 1800s. It was named after the city. It is beautiful in both its crystal and gemstone forms. Â Danburite can be clear, light pink or with a yellow/brown color depending on where the stone was mined, and is found in both crystal and gemstone forms.
It is no longer mined in Danbury, but is mined in many other parts of the world and renowned for its durability and beauty.
The Danbury Museum Gift Shop is open through December 21. Hours are Tuesday through Thursday, 8 am to 4 pm; Saturday, 10 am to 1 pm; and special appointment.
Danbury Museum & Historical Society is at 43 Main Street. For more information about the museum call 743-5200 or visit DanburyHistorical.org.
