Clarence F. Urso

Treasured His Family

Clarence F. Urso, 79, of Southbury, died November 13 at Danbury Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Mr Urso was the husband of Connie (Brew) Urso.

In addition to his wife of 51 years, survivors include two sons, John Brew Urso and his wife, Kelly, and Frank John Urso and his wife, Catherine, of Newtown; his daughter, Leigh Anne Fiorito and her husband, Terry, of Danbury; his special grandsons, Nicholas, Jack, and Mark Urso; and a sister, Josephine Urso of Boynton Beach, Fla. In addition to his parents, Mr Urso was predeceased by a sister, Frances.

Mr Uroso was born in Mount Kisco, N.Y., on July 27, 1927, a son of Frank and Cira (Restagno) Urso. He graduated from Bedford Hills High School. He served in the US Navy during World War II and attended Sampson College. A 30-year employee of Otis Elevator Company, Mr Urso and his family relocated to Connecticut 24 years ago.

An accomplished athlete, he maintained his sporting interests all his life, playing softball into his 55th year. As a resident of Pleasantville, N.Y., for 24 years, where he raised his family, Mr Urso ran numerous athletic programs for children for the Pleasantville Recreation Department. He served in the Pleasantville Fire Department for 24 years, two years as captain of the Hook and Ladder.

As husband, father, and brother to his treasured family there was no equal. He always put his family first above all else. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Calling hours will be held at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, on Monday, November 20, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm, and at the Oelker and Cox Funeral Home, 262 East Main Street, Mount Kisco, N.Y., Tuesday, November 21, from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Interment will be in St Francis Cemetery, Mount Kisco, at the convenience of the family.

 In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cyrenius H. Booth Library, 25 Main Street, Newtown CT 06470.
