Borough Zoners Organize Registry For Public Hearing Notification
Borough Zoners Organize Registry For Public Hearing Notification
People who want to receive formal notice of certain types of public hearings conducted by the Borough of Newtown Zoning Commission will now be placed on a registry to provide them with advance notice of those hearings via either the US mail or electronic mail.
The borough has created a public notice registry as required by Connecticut Public Act 06-80.
Landowners and voters, as well as nonprofit organizations, are eligible to be placed on the registry.
The advance notice of public hearings applies only to certain categories of zoning applications, not all applications. Notification will be provided on those applications that are initiated by the Borough of Newtown Zoning Commission and involve amendments to the boroughâs zoning regulations and changes to the Boroughâs zoning map.
To register to receive public notices of hearings either by electronic mail or US mail, the boroughâs public notice registry form must be completed and mailed to Borough of Newtown Zoning Commission, Attn: Clerk, PO Box 164, Newtown CT 06470.
The form can be picked up at the town clerkâs office at Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street, or by sending an email requesting the form to boroughzc@yahoo.com.
