Behan Promoted To Brigadier General

Former Newtown resident James Behan has been promoted to brigadier general and assigned as the Division Adjutant for the 3rd Civil Affairs Support Division in Missouri.

The division’s primary mission is education. It provides training to the community and community leaders in disaster preparedness before, during, and after an incident.

General Behan was a longtime resident of Newtown prior to relocating to Missouri. He served on the Borough Zoning Board of Appeals for 17 years and was an active Boy Scout leader and past president of The Cullens Youth Association. His daughter, Karen Pierce, and her family, reside in Newtown; one son, Brett, and family reside in New Milford, and son Scott lives in Black Creek, Wis.
