A Homespun Christmas In Woodbury
A Homespun Christmas In Woodbury
WOODBURY â First Congregational Church, on Main Street South opposite the old Town Hall, will present âA Homespun Christmasâ on Saturday, December 2, from 9:30 am until 3 pm. As one of the events of the 16th Annual Woodbury Christmas Festival, âHomespun Christmasâ will combine some old favorites and new delights.
The Cookie Walk has became a tradition, with visitors purchasing their choice of myriad cookies by the pound, while a new offering this year will be gingerbread houses constructed with frosting but awaiting the purchaserâs choice of decoration (candies, sprinkles, etc).
Tables of decorations, ornaments, craft items, and jewelry will assist everyone with their gift shopping. A White Elephant and upgraded Gold Elephant Table will offer other gift solutions. A Chinese Auction will add variety to the classic fair, and cider and doughnuts will be a welcome refresher whatever the time of day.
The highlight of the day will be a raffle of the âMillennium Quiltâ which was hand-sewn by Harriet Mays of Southbury. The quilt has 2,000 squares, each of a different fabric. Ms Mays, a teacher of quilting courses, has donated quilts and other hand-sewn decorations for First Church raffles in the past.
The quilt will be raffled at 3 pm. Tickets are $2 each and may be purchased from any member of First Church and on the day of the fair. The winner does not have to be present at the drawing.
Ample parking is available next to LaBonneâs market in Woodbury Shopping Center. First Church is on Main Street, opposite Old Town Hall. For further information call 263-2846.
