THERMATOOL 102, LANGPORT TILE 80: Gary Doyon poured in 51 points to help even Thermatoolâs record at 1-1. Bob Rogers added 27 in the win. An undermanned Langport Tile squad received 33 points from Kevin Carolan and another 26 from Erin Chiaro.

THE VILLA RESTAURANT 73, MY PLACE RESTAURANT 52: The undefeated Villa Restaurant got 25 points from Rich Seman, 17 from Chris Lee, 16 from Dale Cone and 14 from Cody Forte in an easy win. Mike Kirk kept My Place Restaurant close with 26 points.

THE INN AT NEWTOWN 64, FIRESIDE INN 39: Dan OâHandley and Craig Bloomquist each scored 20 points to lead The Inn at Newtown to its first win. Jeff White scored 20 points for the Fireside Inn.

ITALIAN PAVILION 46, GLEASON GROUP REAL ESTATE 39: Carolyn Ward scored 13 points and Susan Roman added 11 to lead Italian Pavilion. Karen Katrinak scored 20 points to pace the Gleason Group, whose late-game comeback fell just short.

JF WALSH LOGGING & MULCH 52, ITALIAN PAVILION 35: Karen LoBaz scored 20 points, Denise Brough had 10 points and MaryAnn Fisher and Eileen Frateroli each chipped in with eight to power JF Walsh. The sharp-shooting Lisa Pollard kept Italian Pavilion close with 18 points. Sue Roman added eight.

Holly Kocet is pushing a false narrative. The facts simply don't bear out any negative impact to the traffic on Mt Pleasant Road. Saying it does , does not make it true. The road handles in excess of 40,000 trip a day. a couple hundred form Castle Hill is negatable.

Not approving a development that has "checked" all the boxes because the NIMBY mob doesn't like it is wrong.

The town historically has strong collaboration with developers, but the primary obstacle arises from community opposition exerting undue influence on the zoning department. This "NIMBY" pressure often leads to project rejections that exceed the department's actual jurisdiction or authority. Consequently, developers face a limited set of options: either engage in expensive legal battles or leverage the Connecticut Affordable Housing Land Use Appeals Procedure (CGS § 8-30g) as a recourse.

You are correct, Bruce. I know how hard these plans are to put together, but I still believe that we can have more definitive and measurable goals. I know there are a number of units coming online, and the community truly needs them. If only we can move the development of affordable housing to more of a partnership between the community and the developers than the adversarial tug-of-war it seems to be now, that would be good progress.
