The Falling Leaves

To the Editor:

It is a Sisyphus task to clean leaves in the fall season — if you clean a million leaves off your lawn one day, you find there are two million the next day!

As a golfer, I was exposed to the problem of cleaning leaves — in the fall it seemed leaf blower operators were out there every day. Considering the billions of leaves they had to remove, they did a very good job. Occasionally, to lighten their day, after they had finished an area, I would bring a large leaf to them and tell them, “You missed this one!”

Fortunately, they understood my sense of humor and didn’t drive me off the golf course.
