End Of Life Series: Caring For The Caregiver

DANBURY — “Caring for the Caregiver” will be the first in a three-part series on end of life issues presented by the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Danbury (UUCD).

Guest speaker Livia Fiordelisi, the National Family Caregiver Support program coordinator through the Western Connecticut Area Agency on Aging, will offer the program on Tuesday, November 27. The program will furnish participants with practical knowledge they can use with confidence, including educational and resource tools for both caregivers and those in need of care.

End of life issues affect everyone. The UUCD “End of Life” series will look at the challenges presented to both the dying and those who care for them.

It is being hosted by Right To Flourish, a UUCD adult activity interest group that originally sought to offer information and support for those who are aging alone in the community but has broadened its audience to include everyone who may have an interest in topics including managing finances, advanced directives, safety in the home, long distance caregiving, anxiety and depression, understanding Medicare, and its current theme.

Programs will be presented in UUCD’s Fellowship Hall, 24 Clapboard Ridge Road. Finalization of two additional programs is underway. Dates, times and topics are expected to be announced soon.

For additional information about the November and/or future programs, call 203-798-1994.
