Contribute Some Socks For Soldiers
Contribute Some Socks For Soldiers
To the Editor:
This month, November, is our annual âSocks for Soldiersâ campaign. Please remember that we still have troops stationed around the world that are working every day to protect our precious freedom. They need our help as much today as they did when the war in Iraq first began.
The Soldiers Angels organization (www.soldiersangels.org) asks for donations of socks each year at this time, so that they are able to place at least one pair of clean socks into a Holiday Basket that will be distributed to each and every deployed soldier.
I am again asking for your help.
Between now and November 26, I will be collecting socks to send to Soldiers Angels. We need menâs and womenâs socks in white, black, or olive green â adult sizes. There is a large box on my front porch at 77 Butterfield Road in Newtown. You can drop the socks there or you can call 203-948-0584 to arrange for us to pick them up.
I know we are all spread pretty thin these days and are being asked every day to support something, but Iâm only asking for a pair of socks. If you can give more thatâs great, but every single pair helps. Just think of how many soldiers we could help if we could all just give one pair.
Please help our men and women far away from home. Let them know we still support them. Let them know we still care.
 Thank you.
