Carrying Water

To the Editor:

I wanted to thank all those who came out to Walk 4 Water on October 20. It is truly selfless to ask friends, family, and colleagues for money that will help people you will never meet on the other side of the world. But over 150 people came out and carried their water through Fairfield Hills and experienced one aspect of water poverty firsthand.

With the great help of our sponsors, donors, walkers, and volunteers, DigDeep’s Walk 4 Water raised close to $15,000. Those efforts will essentially fund three well projects and bring clean water to over 750 people that don’t currently have access to water. Thanks to all who participated and you can count on us doing it again next fall here in Newtown.
