The Brethren overcame a 9-0 third-inning deficit to overcome the Trojans 15-11 in Newtownâs 13U Fall Baseball championship game this past weekend.
The Brethren got back into the game with a five-run inning sparked by a two-run triple by Jeff Hess.
A nine-run fifth inning helped The Bretheren overtake the Trojans.
The victory was a total team effort as it has been for the entire season for the Brethren with clutch hitting and good defense leading the way.
Jeff Hess, Henry Primavera, and Conor Brennan each had three hits in the game.
Greg Brissette pitched three scoreless innings in a closing role to seal the championship.
Playing well for the Trojans were starting pitcher Patrick Godino, Adam Manes, and Sam Parsons, all of whom registered two hits.
