A Golden Opportunity For Dreams Come True

Golden Opportunities in Sandy Hook, a nonprofit group devoted to improving the quality of life for those who are experiencing isolation, loneliness, or helplessness, particularly in the elderly population, is ready to grant some holiday wishes, said director Knettie Archard.

“We will take requests to grant wishes for the elderly of Sandy Hook and Newtown, over the age of 75. Requests can be made for one’s self or on behalf of someone else,” said Ms Archard.

Wish requests must be received in writing no later than Monday, December 10, and mailed to Golden Opportunities, 1 Riverside Road, Sandy Hook CT 06482. Please include a daytime phone number and/or e-mail address, a mailing address, and the name and age of recipient, when making a request. The relationship to the recipient should also be included.

In addition, the wish to be granted should be described in one or two sentences, and in 50 words or fewer, tell why Golden Opportunities should grant the wish.

Wishes might be need or comfort based, for personal improvement, interest based, a treat, or fulfilling a longtime dream. “Every wish will be considered,” said Ms Archard.

Decisions on wishes to be granted will be made by December 17.
