Police Charge Brookfielder

Following Noise Complaints

After receiving multiple noise complaints from Obtuse Road residents, police set up a surveillance effort along that street to apprehend a motorist who allegedly had repeatedly been blowing his automotive horn during the early morning hours while driving through the area.

Obtuse Road extends northward from Hawleyville Road, near the Brookfield town line.

Police said residents had told them that the problem had been occurring almost nightly for at least the past four weeks, resulting in their repeatedly being wakened from their sleep.

At about 3:42 am November 14, police spotted a northbound motorist driving a 1994 Jeep Cherokee who was continuously honking the vehicle’s horn along a quarter-mile section of the street, police said.

Police said they stopped the vehicle to investigate and then charged motorist Keith Arnold, 21, of Brookfield with disorderly conduct. Police said they additionally charged Arnold with illegal possession of a narcotic after finding one pill of an apparently narcotic substance in his possession.

After arrest processing, police released Arnold on $1,000 bail for a November 28 arraignment in Danbury Superior Court.
