Occupation: Iâm the broker/owner of Alpine Realty in Sandy Hook. Iâm a journeyman cabinetmaker by trade, and I worked in the architectural millwork industry prior to becoming a realtor. Iâve been a realtor since 1987 and opened Alpine Realty in 2001.

How long have you lived in Newtown? I just celebrated my 20th anniversary of living in Newtown.
What do you like to do in your free time? I like to snow ski in the winter and water ski in the summer. I have a season pass at Killington and a season pass thatâs good at five Colorado resorts. I ski Lake Zoar in the summer â I live, work, and play on Lake Zoar. I have met so many great people who live on or use the lake for recreation. I also play keyboard, piano, and organ, but I donât have as much time to pursue that now. I also volunteer with the handicap water skiing clinics by Leaps of Faith Waterski Club on Lake Zoar. And I like to spend a lot of time with my best friend and partner, Ann Marie.
Do you have a favorite sports team? Iâm a die-hard Yankee fan. Weâll hang in there. Iâm becoming a UConn football and basketball fan, too.
Do you have a favorite travel destination? The Rocky Mountains. Vail and Breckenridge, Colo., are my favorite places. The mountains are incredible and the skiing is great. You almost always catch a powder day there. I like the Wasatch Mountains in Utah and the Lake Tahoe area in California, too.
What is the best thing about Newtown? The quality of life, the people that live in the town, and the overall community spirit make Newtown a great place to live and work.
If you could do anything youâve never done before, what would that be? I would help others achieve goals they never thought would be possible. Iâd pass on how Iâve been able to achieve my goals.
Do you have a personal philosophy? I like a quote by Henry Ford, âThere is no man living that cannot do more than he thinks he can.â I get a great sense of accomplishment helping people to achieve their goals. I taught snow skiing at Mt Southington for many years and my greatest reward was teaching a 12-year-old boy who was blind to ski unassisted. The biggest reward is a smile on someoneâs face when they accomplish what they set out to do.
What is the most important lesson you have ever learned? Treat others the way you like to be treated.
