Hartford House Tour December 2

HARTFORD — For more than two decades, The Friends of The Mark Twain House have opened some of greater Hartford’s most outstanding private residences to holiday visitors. This year, five homes in Hartford and West Hartford, will be featured on the 21st Holiday House Tour, 11 am to 4 pm on Sunday, December 2.

The homes were built between 1911 and 1937 in the neighborhood of the Connecticut Governor’s Mansion and Elizabeth Park. Each house will be festively decorated for either Christmas or Hanukkah and musicians will entertain at each tour location.

In addition to the private homes, which are not usually open to the public, the tour will include the Hartford Seminary and Chapel designed by architect Richard Meier.

Tour tickets also provide admission to The Mark Twain House National Historic Landmark, where the author lived and worked from 1874 to 1891. The 19-room house features interiors by Louis Comfort Tiffany.

Advance discount tickets are $20 per person through Saturday, December 1, and are on sale at the Mark Twain House, 351 Farmington Avenue. To order call 860-242-1016. Tickets are $25 when purchased the day of the tour. For additional information visit www.MarkTwainHouse.org.
