Giving Thanks Through Song: Connecticut Choral Society To Perform 'Canticles Of Thanksgiving'
Thanksgiving is the perfect time to celebrate family, friends, and the many amazing gifts that surround us. One of the best ways to do so is through song.
Connecticut Choral Society will perform “Canticles of Thanksgiving” on Saturday, November 23, at 3 pm, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 36 Main Street in Newtown. The program will also be performed Sunday, November 24, at 3 pm, at North Congregational Church in Woodbury.
“‘Canticles of Thanksgiving’ is a celebration of songs about unity, gratitude, and peace,” said Eric Dale Knapp, artistic director and conductor for Connecticut Choral Society. “It features a veritable cornucopia of music ranging from Aaron Copeland, John Rutter, Leonard Bernstein, and Barry Manilow to selections from Godspell and more.”
Connecticut Choral Society’s inspiring program celebrating harmony, gratitude, and peace will be an inclusive, family-friendly concert that will allow audience members to step away from the world for a while and recharge. Anyone who is in the mood for the works of Charles Dickens, who would enjoy the classic Cat Stevens song “Morning has Broken” with a Celtic feel, loves Godspell, or is in the mood for songs to uplift your spirit will enjoy the concert.
Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for youth/seniors, and $10 for active or retired members of the military. Children under 12 may attend free of charge. They may be purchased online at ctchoralsociety.com.
