Adult Substance Abuse Group At NYFS

Newtown Youth & Family Services will be running new groups and added to its lineup is the Adult Substance Abuse Group.

This group is for adults who are serious about making changes in their lives and maintaining sobriety. Clients are encouraged to keep repeating the series until they feel ready to leave the support of the group.

This voluntary group will not fulfill any mandated requirements for DCF, probation, or parole.

Topics covered include:

*Expanding one’s support system

*Finding positive replacement activities for substance use

*Making changes in negative thought patterns and actions that will lead to more productive lifestyle changes
