Flagpole Accident

Police report a two-car accident at the Main Street flagpole about 5:30 pm November 6.

Motorist Ghazala Sameey, 35, of Milford was driving a 1992 Toyota Camry southbound on Main Street, and was passing on the right some stopped southbound vehicles, which were waiting to turn left onto Church Hill Road, police said.

Motorist Herman Kirk, 70, of Ansonia was driving a 1999 Hyundai Elantra eastbound on Church Hill Road, and then proceeded across Main Street into the path of the Toyota, resulting in a collision, police said.

There were no injuries. Police verbally warned Sameey for passing on the right.
