An Early Start On Holiday Book Drive

DANBURY —This holiday season, Barnes & Noble in Danbury Square is inviting its customers to share the gift of reading with underprivileged children in the Danbury area.

Anyone who wants to participate in the annual Holiday Book Drive, which continues through December 20, should go to the Information Desk to select a gift tag that shows the age of a boy or girl in the Even Start program. The customer can then select an appropriate book for the child and will be able to purchase it at 10 percent off. Barnes & Noble will get the gift into the child’s hands in time for Christmas.

Even Start is a family learning program of the Danbury Public Schools. It helps adults complete high school or learn English, and it also helps their children through an Early Learning Center. The books donated to the Barnes & Noble Holiday Book Drive will be given to children enrolled in Even Start’s Family Literacy Program.
