Always A Grateful Heart
To The Editor:
November 2 was our 29th community Health Fair and a spectacular day at Newtown Community Center.
The utmost thanks to the Town and the CC team who make all that hard work look seamless.
This year we linked up with American Legion Post 202 and Veteran’s Affairs for the VetFest — what an honor to anchor an event to provide information, support and services to those who have honorably served us.
It’s hard to decide which was better, all the great health screenings, services and information we share, the Newtown Strong therapy dogs, Hearts of Hope or all the goodwill and good feelings — everyone was so happy!
Special thanks to our sponsors Alsa Research, Elderly Care Givers, York Lab and CT Tick Control. Also thanks to our businesses who donated gift cards/certificates for the free drawings: Blue Colony Diner, Uncle Matt’s Bakery, Black Swan, New Insights, The Toy Tree and TJ Max — so generous! And thanks to John Voket, our terrific emcee once again.
Newtown is fortunate to have such dedicated and talented people living and working here. We are blessed to have terrific community events that bring us together, providing an opportunity to have some good clean fun.
To all the attendees — thank you for coming — we love to hold this free health and wellness fair to keep Newtown well.
A very special thank you to our Health District staff Maureen Schaedler, Suzette LeBlanc, Giana Pedevillano, AJ Cresci, Joan Santucci and BJ Halstead — all the support and hard work make a positive difference every day, and especially Health Fair day!
On behalf of the Health Fair Organizational Committee (Donna Culbert, Donna Monteleone, Dr Della Schmid, Dr Joseph Young, Natalie Jackson, Matt Ariniello, Neil Chaudhary), Thank You! It’s truly a pleasure.
See you next year!!
Donna Culbert
Health Department Director
