Mary Ann Isdale
Mary Ann Kinne Isdale, 89, of North Branford, died on November 9, at her residence at Evergreen Woods. She was comforted by her husband of 64 years, Ian Isdale. She was born in 1927 in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., and was also a former resident of Orange, Conn., and Ashfield, Mass.
Her husband, Ian; her children and their spouses, John and Jolene Isdale, and their daughter Hayley, of Newtown, Jerry Isdale of Haiku, Hawaii, Holly and Tony Ryan of Bryn Mawr, Penn.; and grandchildren Eddy Isdale, Brian Isdale, Abigail and John Ryan, Justin and Jennifer Durelli survive her. She is also survived by her brother, Gerald Kinne of Charlottesville, Va., and her beloved nieces and nephews.
Mrs Isdale graduated from Oregon State in 1952 with a BS degree in Early Childhood Development. She married Ian in 1952, and they moved to Orange in 1956 and lived there for 52 years. She founded the Orange Congregational Church Nursery School with her dear friends, Lynn Bissell and Penny Vaughn; the nursery school is celebrating its 50th year anniversary next spring. Aside from her family, the nursery school was one of her proudest accomplishments. She always enjoyed meeting her former students.
She was an active member of the Orange Garden Club and enjoyed displaying her arrangements at the Orange Town Fair each September.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Orange Congregational Church, 205 Meeting House Lane in Orange, on Saturday, December 10, at 11 am.
