Arlene A. Skudlarek
Arlene A. Skudlarek, 84, of Sandy Hook died November 12, at her home. She was the wife of John A. Skudlarek. She was born in Schenectady, N.Y.. on September 29, 1932, the daughter of the late Anna (Lewandowski) and Stephen Plaske.
A resident of Newtown since 1969, Mrs Skudlarek was a Communicant of St Rose of Lima Church and previously had been a teacher for the religious education program there.
During her working career, she was a legal secretary for Silverman and Silverman, Esqu in Schenectady and for attorney Robert Hall of Newtown. She later worked for Curtis Packaging and Toll Associates in Newtown.
In addition to her husband, her son, John J. Skudlarek, and his wife, Karen, of Coventry, Conn.; her daughter, Dorene Neylon-Dalpe, and her husband, Daryl Dalpe, of Newtown; three grandsons, Thomas Neylon, Stephen Neylon and his wife Nicole, and Ryan Skudlarek; a great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews survive her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Rose of Lima Church on Wednesday, November 16, at noon. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Newtown.
Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, on the morning of Wednesday, November 16, from 10 to 11:30.
